Spring Showers? More like Spring Hail

Spring is finally here. The season I wait for just to experience the beautiful and mystical showers. But where is this beautiful rain? Is it even spring? Definitely doesn't feel like it down here in Edmonton. In fact rather then haivng the soft and lovely showers we're having ever-changing and totally unexpected SNOW! That's right snow in spring. I'm pretty sure we all know the cause of this sudden change in the weather, and why its snowing in spring. But my question is, will the showers ever COME? And since April showers didn't come, does that mean there will be no May flowers?

The Mortal Instrument Trilogy

This trilogy is truly remarkable. Caught me right in and still hasn't let go. Cassandra Clare adds such sparks to the regular fantasy and romance we all know. After reading the last page you will 1) Crave for the third book and 2)Go abck to page one and indulge in Clary, Jace, Simon and the rest's life once more. A must read for every Twilight book lover out there.

Vampire Academy Series

A great series about vampires. While it doesn't compare to Twilight, I find it doesn't need to. Its story and chracters do well without needing to be compared to Twilight. Its got romance, adventure, action, mystery, fantasy and teens. The setting of the story pull you right in. These series are definitely worth your time! Here they are:

#1 - Vampire Academy August 2007 -
Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with an unbreakable bond to the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest and most dangerous vampires--the ones who never die.The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, makes her a Dhampir; she is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making her one of them. After two years of illicit freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir's Academy, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. Rose will continue her Dhampir education. Lissa will go back to being Queen of the elite Moroi social scene. And both girls will resume breaking hearts.Fear made Lissa and Rose run away from St. Vladimir's--but their world is fraught with danger both inside and out of the Academy's iron gates. Here, the cutthroat ranks of the Moroi perform unspeakable rituals and their secretive nature and love of the night creates an enigmatic world full of social complexities. Rose and Lissa must navigate through this dangerous world, confront the temptation of forbidden romance, and never once let their guard down, lest the Strigoi make Lissa one of them forever...

#2 - Frostbite
Rose Hathaway's got serious guy trouble. Her gorgeous tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason has a huge crush on her, and she keeps getting stuck in her best friend Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian. (So not cool).
Then a massive Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir's on high alert, and the Academy crawls with Guardians--including the legendary Janine Hathaway...Rose's formidable, long-absent mother. The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks. This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. Only this time, Rose--and her heart--are in more danger than she ever could have imagined...

#3 - Shadow Kiss Coming November 2008
It's springtime at St. Vladimir's Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn't been feeling quite right. She's having dark thoughts, behaving erratically, and worst of all...might be seeing ghosts. As Rose questions her sanity, new complications arise. Lissa has begun experimenting with her magic once more, their enemy Victor Dashkov might be set free, and Rose's forbidden relationship with Dimitri is starting to heat up again. But when a deadly threat no one saw coming changes their entire world, Rose must put her own life on the line--and choose between the two people she loves most.people she loves most.

The author of the Twilight series of # 1 bestsellers delivers her brilliant first novel for adults: a gripping story of love and betrayal in a future with the fate of humanity at stake. Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie''s body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn''t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.Melanie fills Wanderer''s thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body''s desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she''s never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

Speaking of Gossip Girl

Incase you didn't already know and don't already watch it..there's an actual tv show based on these books! You can find out more about it on "http://www.gossipgirlinsider.com/"
Here's a sneak peek at some of the characters! BTW some of them totaly don't match my imagination of the actual chracters in the book!(ehm..ehm..Jenny has CURLY BROWN HAIR??) Oh well!

Gossip Girl Series! The Glamorous life of The Upper Side!

Gotta love 'em. I have to admit these series are way off my track of ususal books. I am more into fantasy than drama-high or real life stories...but Gossip Girl just sucked me in. They are just so detailed and long and personal that by the end you feel like you know Serena, Nate, Blair and all those other characters that bring this story (or should I say stories) to life. Infact the ending was jst so emotional...the conflict and the choices and weird situation...it was just PERFECT! The prequel people say is even more sad and emotional but I am currently on the road to finding out. Gossip Girl (the girl in the book) is absolutely cool and even though she could be a loser-ish stalker who has no clue of the glamorous life she talk about so much, you'll still like her and her sassy responses. Thought at time she is just a tid bit annoying...not to mention stalkerish(and she isn't even ashamed of it)!

So definitely read em...fantasy lovers or romance lover...its a good read for everyone!
